People ask me what having heart failure is like.  The best way I can describe it is that I have $5 at the begining of every day.  Most people have $15-$20 and have coupons.  I don’t and everything I do costs money.  Showering, brushing teeth, walking up stairs, changing clothes, driving, squating down and standing up.  I spend my money too fast everyday and run out by 3-4pm.  Most of the time what I do it is worth the money I spend.  But then at the end of the day I don’t have energy to digest food, let the dog out, or to help make dinner.  This is the quality of life I want back.  On a day like today (70 and sunny) I want nothing more than to be outside doing anything, but I spent my money already.  I will be in bed eating ensure for dinner.    Everyone out there reading this please do something healthy for your heart today.  Trust me it is so worth it.
Love to you all!

About marialegatt

I am a 33 year old girl (I say girl because I act and look young all the time) who has had heart disease her whole life. In the last few years I have had severe congestive heart failure and in August of this year recieved a heart transplant. This is my journey to be girl/woman who I could never have been before. I plan to set outstanding goals and achievements and hope people support me along the way good or bad.
